I know this was posted a while ago but i just came across it and had to say this is one of the coolest, and well made pieces ive ever seen. Its too bad the walk through doesn't work any more...

was a nicely written tutorial
although i'm afraid it doesn't bring
new things to the club

it is more of a "how i did it" tutorial than an
explaining tutorial about tools and methods

still, was a well written tutorial
and you should keep at it and not discourage :nod:

[i wouldn't let my first tutorials in the club.. i've raised the bar since then]

really sorry about the long wait until i fully inspected your tutorial
i'm under a lot of pressure and have a bit less time for dA
plus there's a big list of tutorials on the wait list :faint:

note...
i forgot to give my ideas and notes... ^^;

i see in your tutorial that you utilize the layer blend mode feature [as many people do]
i suggest working with the curves tool on a layer instead of multiplying the layer
it is a far less destructive tool [press ctrl+G (i.e. grouping) for the curves to only effect the color burn layer]

I love the color of the iris in the eye, it seems like a ncie contrast from the color of the skin around it. The whole piece look sreally alien and inhuman, makes you wonder what they eye does belong to! The texture kind of makes it look like whatever it is is shedding its skin, which is also a nice touch.
